The countdown is on: exactly one year from today, the Olympic flame will arrive in the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, marking the opening of the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The opening ceremony might seem a long way off, but already over 3.2 million tickets have been sold.

The medals for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 have now been unveiled. Gold, silver, and bronze Olympic medals got their first public viewing on Wednesday as Tokyo organizers marked exactly a year until the games open. The Judo tournament will traditionally take place one day after the opening ceremony at 25 July 2020.
